Mike Myers has practiced civil engineering in Virginia since 1994. After graduating with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from UVA in 1994, Mike learned his craft by working for 12 years in Falls Church, Virginia with Walter Phillips, Inc. Mike rose from an entry level civil engineer to the firm’s Director of Engineering, securing his Professional Engineer (PE) license in the year 2000. In 2006, Mike returned to Charlottesville to run a branch office of The Engineering Groupe, Inc. Mike then took a position as the Director of Engineering at Dominion Engineering in 2010. Eight years later, Mike decided to channel his brand of engineering services and his 24 years of experience into his own engineering firm. The name “30 Scale” is derived from the scale at which Mike typically draws site plans and his always having a scale within arm’s reach. Mike plans steady growth to become a go-to engineering firm in Central Virginia. He believes in Teamwork, Technology and Transparency to make your project successful.
Mike has diligently worked in the Civil Engineering industry with a focus on land development in the commercial and residential sector. In his practice, he has obtained municipal approvals in more than 16 Central Virginia and Northern Virginia cities and counties, including Albemarle County, the City of Charlottesville, Fluvanna County, Greene County, and Louisa County. Primarily focused on site and subdivision plans and approvals, Mike also is a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) and is proficient in floodplain design and modelling, and has obtained FEMA approvals of CLOMRs, LOMRs and eLOMAs throughout his career.
